News
Our Next Outing: Ragged Mountain Easter Hike: Sunday April 4th, 2pm to 5:45pm. Ragged Mountain is a beautiful 980-acre forest of mature oak, hickory, poplar, pine, and maple trees with two lakes and more than four miles of shoreline. Seven miles of trail lead through majestic forest, along rugged terrain, and through areas rich with wildlife, offering a unique opportunity for wilderness hiking within minutes of town. The hike is not very strenuous in terms of climbs and elevation and the trail is generally well-marked. Unfortunately, as with many nature areas in/near town, pets are prohibited. MEETING PLACE: parking lot in back of the law school (behind/adjacent to Scott Commons). TRANSPORT: It's about a 10 min. drive. We will need roughly one car per 5-6 attendees to carpool. I'll pass out directions on Sunday, but if you are planning to drive or running late it would be wise to print directions. Directions can be found here: http://www.albemarle.org/department.asp?department=parks&relpage=8366 RECOMMENDED: bring water and a snack. Eat lunch beforehand. Comfortable hiking/mud boots (but doable in sneakers). Feel welcome to invite others. See you Sunday at 2pm.

Our events will be posted on Facebook and in the law school's weekly events emails. However, many of our outings are announced only 4-5 days in advance due to weather constraints. Joining our Facebook group or checking this page weekly (later in the week is recommended) are the best ways to keep tabs on us.
