From how movie studios negotiate with actors over incentive clauses, to how intellectual property law protects musicians’ work from the ears of less original artists, to how civil rights law can force both television & print media to improve their coverage of minority groups, to how both antitrust & labor law affect bargaining strategies between players and owners, VaSE covers a wide spectrum of topics. In addition, we are active members of the law school community. We host an annual symposium (free for Virginia students) at which national experts in the fields of sports, entertainment, music, publishing, art, and marketing converge.
